In good news for cruise lovers, the first glimpse of the highly awaited Icon of the Seas, has been released by Royal Caribbean International. The ship features a variety of amenities and activities that are sure to please all guests, from young families to retirees.
The first Icon Class ship, which will arrive in late 2023 ahead of its January 2024 debut, will represent the travel industry’s first-of-its-kind blend of the finest of every holiday, from the beach getaway to the resort escape and the theme park adventure.
Royal Caribbean announced that the ship will have eight neighborhoods, including five brand new adventures and three bold returning favorites. The company has included almost every favorite features from all Royal Caribbean ships in Icon of the Seas to provide guests with one unbelievable experience.
One of the new neighborhoods is called Thrill Island. Thrill island is where vacationers can test their limits. It is also home to Category 6, the largest water park at sea with six record breaking slides. It includes some of the longest tallest and fastest slides in the world. Pressure drop and its 66 degree incline make it the industry’s first open free fall slide.
The new Chill island is a three deck slice of paradise. With multiple zones and experiences, the neighborhood includes lots of space and is built completely around water for an ultimate day of relaxation featuring four pools. There’s a pool for every mood each with prime ocean views.
