Nassau’s Junkanoo Celebrations Have Returned
After a two-year break due to the epidemic, The Bahamas’ cultural festival returned to Nassau’s Bay Street in December, selling over 2,500 tickets for Boxing Day (26 December) and New Year’s (2 January) celebrations. In January, the Out Islands will see Junkanoo celebrations in The Exumas (6 January) and on Cat Island (10 Jan.).
Hidden Worlds and The Bahamas Launch a Miami Dining Experience
Hidden Worlds, known for its immersive events, is returning to Miami in collaboration with The Islands of The Bahamas to present a 13-day culinary pop-up that combines art, entertainment, and conservation activities. Tickets for “Our Ocean, Our World,” which runs from February 15 to March 4, 2023, are currently on sale. Part of the proceeds from the event, which is intended to raise awareness for ocean conservation, will go to Beneath the Waves, a non-profit dedicated to the protection of the ocean’s ecosystems.
JetBlue will begin daily flights from New York City to Nassau
Beginning in spring 2023, New Yorkers will be able to access the white sand beaches of The Bahamas swiftly and conveniently thanks to nonstop daily JetBlue flights from LaGuardia Airport (LGA) to Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA).
The Berry Islands now have a new international airport.
The Bahamas officially opened its newest international airport, Great Harbour Cay Airport on The Berry Islands, on December 16. Aztec Airways, Tropic Ocean Airways, and Makers Air all fly from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
