Four Seasons Maui in Wailea Launches Cultural and Environmental Program for Young Travelers

Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea welcomes Spring Break guests with the introduction of Four Seasons Maui Academy, a seasonal program featuring complementary activities designed to educate the Resort’s young guests, ages 5 to 12, about the destination’s exceptional culture and environment.

The academy, which will return from March 13 to April 15, 2023, promotes a genuine connection to Hawaii via hands-on learning and engaging storytelling. This season, the Resort has added two new activities to its programming: Chef’s Garden Club and Maui Whale Watchers. They join the popular Ocean Aloha and Hawaiian Star Tales activities.

In addition, from April 1 to April 14, 2023, the Resort welcomes youngsters ages 9 to 17 to Camp Manitou, an adventure camp tailored for Four Seasons Resort Maui guests. Pre-teens and teenagers will experience the island through activities led by counselors such as the Road to Hana, Hawaiian Star Tales with Hawaiian navigator Kala Baybayan Tanaka, surfing excursions, island treks, and more. Camp Manitou also provides customizable family days for parents and younger siblings who do not want to be left out of the fun.

NEW: Chef’s Garden Club

Tuesdays, 10:00-11:00 am

Follow Kumu (teacher) Taylor, manager of sustainability at Four Seasons Resort Maui, on a journey from seed to plate aimed to help youngsters understand the origins of food. Chef’s Garden Club is accessible throughout the year.

NEW: Maui Whale Watchers

Wednesdays, 10:00-11:00 am

Attention whale watchers! Children led by Kumu (teacher) Taylor, Four Seasons Resort Maui Sustainability Manager, will not only walk to the beach for whale-watching from the Resort, but they will also learn about migratory pathways, why whales come to the warm waters of Maui and paint pictures of the magnificent beasts.

The Hawaiian Stars

Saturdays, 8:00-8:30 pm

Hawaiian navigator Kala Baybayan Tanaka will relate the history of Polynesian wayfinders who utilized the stars, wind, and currents to navigate to the Hawaiian Islands. Families will learn about the voyagers’ spiritual connection to the Hawaiian Islands, their ancestors, and the environment. Suggested for children 8 and up. Requires the presence of a guardian.

Four Seasons Maui Academy and Camp Manitou complement the Resort’s free Kids For All Seasons day camp and a broad list of year-round activities and services for families.
