The Department of Tourism North Philippines regions (CAR, Ilocos and Pangasinan, Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon) are collectively mounting a grand exposition to attract more tourists and ensure their share in the country’s growing foreign and domestic visitor arrivals. Now on its 8th year, the North Philippines Tourism and Travel Expo (NORTHPHIL EXPO) is set to happen on Nov. 15-17, 2013 at SM City Clark, Pampanga. It provides a common ground for tourism stakeholders to explore, market and promote their destinations, products and services – all under one roof. The tourism fair is a group effort of the Association of Tourism Officers of Central Luzon, Inc. (ATOCEL), Philippine Exhibits and Themeparks Corp. (PETCO) as event organizer and the North Phils. regional offices.
The 3-day event will showcase pavilions and exhibit booth of popular, new and emerging tourist destinations, attractions, travel – related products and services that will offer affordable airline tickets, tour packages and discounted hotel accommodations. Adding color and excitement to the exhibits are special events that include the It’s More Fun Quiz Bee Challenge, flairtending competition, cultural presentations, corporate game shows, arts and crafts demonstrations, raffle draws, among others. It will also feature its Buyers Meet Sellers Program, a business matching component where foreign buyers from our neighboring countries meet, network and do business with our own sellers while convincing them to include the Philippines in their tour packages.
In support of the United Nations International Year of Water Cooperation and World Tourism Day 2013 theme “Tourism and Water: Protecting Our Common Future”, this year’s event aims to create awareness on the need to conserve our water resources and at the same time focus on the role of tourism in water management and conservation effort.
