South Pacific specialist Paul Gauguin Cruises has announced its new 2023 itinerary, which includes trips to Tahiti, French Polynesia, Fiji, and the South Pacific.
In 2023, the m/s Paul Gauguin will showcase its most popular itineraries, including the seven-night Tahiti & Society Islands, ten-night Society Islands & Tuamotus, eleven-night Cook Islands & Society Islands, and fourteen-night Marquesas, Tuamotus & Society Islands.
Paul Gauguin Cruises will return to Fiji in 2023, offering 13-night itineraries to Fiji, Tonga, Cook Islands, and the Society Islands. Papeete, Tahiti; Moorea, Society Islands; Bora Bora, Society Islands; Aitutaki, Cook Islands; Vava’u, Tonga; Savusavu, Vanua Levu, Fiji; Suva, Viti Levu, Fiji; Beqa Island, Fiji; and Lautoka, Fiji are among the ports of call on the voyages.
Guests will have access to the line’s private island, Motu Mahana, as well as a private beach in Bora Bora. Outdoor activities such as snorkelling, kayaking, paddleboarding, and SCUBA diving excursions are available on the cruises.
In February 2021, Studio Jean Philippe Nuel redesigned the ship’s staterooms and suites, Le Grand Salon, restaurants, piano bar, La Palette Lounge, spa and salon, fitness centre, boutique, pool deck, and reception area. The renovation’s vision was to complement The Gauguin’s elegant Polynesian signature with a chic and contemporary style. The ship also got a reading nook on Deck 5, a digital museum with over 150 Paul Gauguin pieces on Deck 6, and new sound and lighting systems throughout.
Amenities were also improved in tandem with The Gauguin’s renovation. Guests will receive complimentary unlimited Wi-Fi as well as access to a virtual museum featuring over 150 paintings by artist Paul Gauguin. These new additions make for an even more all-inclusive experience, which also includes dining in the ship’s three restaurants and 24-hour room service; complimentary beverages such as select wines, beers, and spirits; and onboard gratuities for room stewards and dining staff.
The company places a high value on reducing its environmental impact. In 2019, Paul Gauguin Cruises committed to offsetting 150 percent of its carbon emissions by replacing heavy fuel oil with a much cleaner fuel (low-sulfur marine gas oil). Water treatment and consumption optimization, as well as energy-saving initiatives, are among the most recent environmental upgrades at the Gauguin.
In the recent 2021 Travvy Awards, Paul Gauguin Cruises won bronze as Best Cruise Line for Australia/New Zealand/South Pacific. It also won bronze as Best Cruise Ship – Mid-Size (500 – 1,000 Cabins)
